Cotton was one of most powerful plant in the history of american and probably the whole world when it comes to its effect in shaping the political, economical and humanitarian views and reality.
Sitting in the cotton museum watching the videos on cotton, I am impressed also excited as cotton is one important part of my startup Viruksha.
Learned how the cotton gin was invented to how cotton grows from a beautiful flower to a closed up bud to the fluffy cotton ball we see.
The cotton exchange also reminded me of the guru movie and how interesting and financially viable this industry.
Sad but historically important event associated with this industry - salvery shows how man comes up solutions (how cruel it may) to solve their need. I guess this is why man rules the animal kingdom.
Cruel but still quite resourceful. Good that now we have morale rules and organizations policing it, we are now forced to think beyond these cruel and sadistic solutions into more acceptable technological solutions.
